The main attraction of the old Bolton Abbey, it is possible to visit the ruins of the priory for free (although you'll still need to pay money to park). Centuries of history are recounted in this site, and some hints of what once stood here can still be seen, like the windows and stone walls. For the rest, you can refer to the illustrations which will help you imagine the size of this building, completed almost 900 years ago.
