Presiding Campoamor Park

The Monument to Ramon de Campoamor was made by the sculptor Aurelio Carter and inaugurated on August 13, 1913. It's in the center of Campoamor Park, which is a little outside the Asturian town of Navia. The sculpture is made of bronze and is on a pedestal in a landscaped circle. Professor Ramón de Campoamor is seated on a bench (also of bronze), carrying a pen with notebook in hand. On the pedestal's sides are bronze allegorical reliefs of his major works, such as Doloras, Humoradas and Small poems.
