1 review of Robert's Prairie Dog Town

Prairie Dogs Galore...

Based on the site of a former homestead this 'protected' area contains one of the largest colonies of black tailed prairie dogs in the country. Some people think of them as vermin but I love the little furry critters. We saw plenty of them coming into Badlands National Park but plenty more here. We spent a good amount of time just watching them going about their business. Managed to catch some great photos as well with my 200mm lens. There is a long grave road to reach it (10-15 minutes) but if you've got some spare time or really want to see prairie dogs then you can't miss it.
