Striking facade
It can be found near the train station and Promenade. It is a blend of Gothic style with oriental elements. It's striking for its façade and the great contrasting colours, white and maroon. The church was built by the French in around 1700. Stained glass windows inside depict scenes from the life of Jesus Christ and the Virgin and also by the number of cats that roam the altar. Mass is said in four languages (English, French, Latin and Tamil).
