A nice garden

The current Parish Church of Rotherham is the third that has been built at this location. A church has stood here since 937, with the original being replaced by a Norman church in the late eleventh century. Construction of the current church began in the fourteenth century, in the "perpendicular" architectural style. Now called All Saints Church, it is considered to be one of the finest examples of this style in England. The architect Gilbert Scott renovated it in 1873, but maintained its historical style. The Saxons buried the first Christians in the area in this church, but now there is a separate cemetery near the center of the city.
