San Felipe, Yucatan

I have to travel 365 miles from my home to get to this place, and that's how long it took me to get back to this port again. When I was little, I used to come here with my sisters, brothers, cousins, and family, not only because it was fun, but because, for me, San Felipe is synonymous with freedom, and ease. It's name may sound very pious, but it actually isn't. Though we liked to stay in the little park for hours upon hours, it was also an obligatory visit before and after going to the beach. When we got older, the park became the confessional point of our troubles, and though the lemonade had changed to vodka, our feelings about this place never changed.
