Santa Maria Della Pace

The church of Saint Mary of Peace was built on an old church, San Andrea Aquarizaris, in the fifteenth century. Under the reign of Alexander VII, it was restored and a Baroque façade with Doric columns was added. It is just behind the Piazza Navona. The Chigi chapel, to the first right, was created by Raphael. Inside is the work of "Christ carried by the angels" and a bronze Franceli. The Chigi Chapel is named after the finanzó mecena.
