Church of San Marcos Small and discreet...

Church of San Marcos Small and discreet Church of San Marcos is located at the end of the street Zamora. Believed to have been built sometime in the early to late twelfth century. Between the sixteenth and eighteenth underwent several modifications, such as the demolition of a large porch that was the entrance to the sacristy. The church is very original because it is circular, only in Spanish Romanesque. I say small and discreet because it is. It has a diameter of only 22 meters, and most of the ground is covered with chairs and benches for the faithful. It has three naves bounded by two thick columns ending in apses (not visible from the outside) and keep up the heavy roof. The Church is a crossing very busy, "seeing" thousands of people walking by his side. It is also a classic places to meet friends and dating, although one usually refers more to a bar next door, and not the "San Marcos". The funny thing is that a very small percentage of citizens who spend their valuable know what side of the building, a church and it is unique in its architecture. Maybe you should begin to dicer "see you in San Marcos" ... As a church that is held regularly trades either weekdays or holidays. Timetables: 1 April to 30 September, Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30 to 13.30. and from 16.00 to 19.30 h.

The church of San Marcos is at the end...

The church of San Marcos is at the end of Calle Zamora, it is quite small and discreet, just at the point where the old center of Salamanca touch the new city. We think it was built in the twelfth century. Between the sixteenth and the eighteenth century, it is modified and extended, it takes away a large porch that served as the entrance to the sacristy, built to church. The church is a place of very popular way, but few people bother to visit. For proof, this is a place where we often give appointments, but not in front of the church, we refer more readily to the bar opposite. The hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 13:30 and from 16h to 19h is celebrated always masses of matins, vespers and Sunday.
