1 review of Strawberry Field

A red fence

For someone who isn't a Beatles fan, it's just a red fence. You'll find it near Mendips, the house where John Lennon lived with his aunt and uncle, and just a five-minute bus ride from Penny Lane. To get to this area from the center of Liverpool, you'll need to take the 76 bus from downtown, or to reserve a place on the Magical Mystery Tour (though if you do this, you can only spend a limited time in each area). In terms of history, the red fence led to an orphanage, and John Lennon used to go there to play with friends or attend parties in the summer. He was later inspired to write Strawberry Fields Forever.
