Riga in the summer is amazing, especially close to mid summer. The old town is full of beautiful squares, which in turn are filled with one or more summer terraces. These are outdoor bars with a stage for musicians, wooden tables, chairs and benches and shady trees or umbrellas. For 2-3 euros you enjoy a small local beer and excellent musicianship. Just wander around until you discover your sound. No wonder everyone wants to stay up forever!
