Tarascon Castle

This is a fortress of an incredible figure that overlooks the Rhone. Tarascon Castle is among the most beautiful in Provence. It is built in the refined style of buildings typical of Anjou. This figure gives the town a very lofty style feeling. Built at the beginning of S XV of beautiful medieval maps, the reference point was the old border between La Occitania (Provence) and the Frankish kingdoms. Majestic and well preserved, it is really worth spending some time here and touring its beautiful interior gardens. Once you enter, you get the impression that some troubadour's out to welcome you.

Although we arrived five minutes before closing, the friendly doorman didn't let us in. We settled for visiting the castle and surrounding are well-kept.
