The Dragon of Beaucaire - Occitan Legends

There was an old market known as the Place Vieille (Plaza Vieja), we find a nice picturesque corner where a sculpture breaks under the shadow of a banana tercentenary: Le Drac de Beaucaire (The Dragon Beaucaire). Listed as a National Monument, from here stems one of the most famous legends of Occitania. It has called our attention to the striking resemblance to the Legend of Sant Jordi, but especially the similarity with its neighboring city, Trascón, and history of the Tarasque montruo. It is a beautiful place to see with a charming portico area that closes most of the place. There are legends and old stories, where, once again, I have found the Occitan poet Frederic Mistral.
