Tarraco Viva

Tarraco Viva is the reenactment festival of Tarragona that has been there for fifteen years. What began as activities to support the bid to Heritage of Roman monuments, has become the best Roman festival in the world. During a week there are historical recreations, theatrical tours, exhibitions, screenings, and gladiator fights! Real gladiators fighting with swords (blunt, but they also hurt) in the Roman amphitheater. There are different times to see the show which is an hour long, and which explains how the gladiator fights really were. A show that must be seen to be believed, and if you like Roman history.
