The Lakes of Covadonga - Enol and Ercina lakes

242 reviews of The Lakes of Covadonga - Enol and Ercina lakes

Impressive Place

One of the most impressive sites in Spain is, without a doubt, the Lakes of Covadonga. Located in the heart of the Picos de Europa, they are a must stop for nature lovers.

After going up a narrow road from the Sanctuary and Basilica of Covadonga, the traveler finds lake Enol, the biggest of the two. It is more than 1,000 meters above sea level and very close to the coast.

For sure it is a must see.

Lakes of Covadonga

A marvelous place! After going up the Picos de Europa for 6 years in a row in the summer, we decided to visit them in winter. The lakes are covered in ice and they give the landscape an appearance that is completely different to the green earth in summer. I really recommend that you go in the wintertime, there are no tourists and you are able to enjoy the landscape.

A Sunset

Excellent

What can I say? This place is marvelous. It is beautiful in the daylight and amazing at sunset. I really recommend you visit it. If you can, visit it at night to contemplate the starry sky and its reflection on the lakes…WONDERFUL.

Lake Ercina

A beautiful place. Located at the foot of the Picos de Europe is a mystical place where adventures and battles have taken place and cattle now graze. The air is clean and the colours are vivid. A beautiful and scenic place to spot birds of prey and nature at its finest

Breathtaking Lake

My impression of Lake Enol when thinking about its unique landscape, was that I was in a place of breathtaking peace, quiet and a little magic. The image of the lake was seen yet unseen, in a moment the clouds covered the lake and no longer was anything visible to appreciated.

No dudéis en ir bien tapados.
