The Tokyo Metro is intense!

The Tokyo Metro is intense! Everything is in Japanese, there are no maps that show all the lines, and there are so many different routes and lines that it's really confusing for a first-time visitor. However, after a few adventures you eventually get the hang of it and actually enjoy it. What's nice about the Tokyo Metro is that you can get to just about everywhere and most of the Japanese locals are very polite and helpful if you ever need to ask for directions. You'll probably end up doing this as the metro stations are huge...seriously, you could literally get lost in some of the bigger ones.

Antes de llegar a Japón la gente me advirtió de lo complicado que es moverse por el metro de Tokio. Sin embargo, a mi me pareció que todas las indicaciones estaban bastante claras (si se prestaba un poco de atención) y que, salvo en estaciones gigantes como puede ser la Tokyo Central Station o Shinjuku, moverse por el metro de Tokio es bastante fácil y ágil. CONSEJO: Tened cuidado ya que se paga por destino, de manera que, cuanto mas lejos, mas pagas y si no compras el billete adecuado, no te dejará salir de la estación. Afortunadamente el pueblo japones entiende que los viajeros no siempre entendemos las indicaciones y simplemente te hacen pagar la diferencia de precio del billete.

Da sempre ritenuta un grande ostacolo per i turisti, la mappa della metropolitana di Tokyo è un groviglio a prima vista quasi incomprensibile di linee sotterranee e di superficie gestite da diverse compagnie che si intersecano in enormi stazioni dove per cambiare treno può essere necessario camminare anche 500-700 metri. Sono sempre più le stazioni con i nomi delle fermate anche in inglese (tutte quelle principali) e ci sono molte cartine complete e chiare (comprese quelle contenute nelle guide Routard e Lonely planet), spesso in distribuzione negli alberghi. Per facilitare gli spostamenti però è necessario un accorgimento, praticamente indispensabile per uno straniero: prendete un'utilissima carta ricaricabile Pasmo o Suica (disponibili alle biglietterie Jr e sostanzialmente identiche). Si ricarica agli sportelli automatici e vi eviterà di dover fare il biglietto ogni volta (che è la cosa più complicata perché in teoria bisogna per ciascuna tratta calcolare la distanza e il prezzo) appoggiando semplicemente la tessera (o il portafoglio che la contiene) sul lettore ai cancelli. Se osservate un momento il fluire della folla, vedrete che praticamente nessun giapponese ha il biglietto cartaceo. Inoltre può essere utilizzata anche in negozi e distributori automatici! A Tokyo non se ne può fare a meno. Da evitare nell'orario di punta: grosso modo fra le 7.30 e le 9, quando è notoriamente affollatissima.

Il serpente dans toute la ville jusque dans la banlieue puis se perd avec les trains régionaux. Le métro à Tokyo est privé et ne propose donc pas le même prix selon la ligne empruntée. Il reste assez cher mais très pratique puisqu'il va très loin en banlieue et peut s'emprunter jusqu'à très tard dans la nuit. A l'intérieur, le silence est d'or.
