Authentic Moroccan in Marche des Enfants Rouge
Traiteur Marocain Tom Sarl is the Moroccan restaurant inside the Marche des Enfants Rouge, one of the most iconic food markets in Paris. I’m a huge fan of North African, and particularly Moroccan, cuisine and given Paris’ reputation for having the best Moroccan fare outside of Africa, I had to give it a try.
When you first approach the counter, the display of delectable items is almost overwhelming: freshly baked Moroccan breads, flaky msemen, an endless variety of tagines piled high with meat, potatoes, and olives, huge mounds of couscous studded with dates and fresh herbs, and clay pans of bubbling, molten shakshuka, all waiting to be devoured. Seriously, if you get there early on an empty stomach, the sight of the spread waiting for you is irresistible.
