Trinidad is a relatively small city (it has just 65,000 inhabitants) situated in the province of Sancti Spiritus in Cuba. It is a perfectly preserved colonial city, which was built by the Spanish conquerors in the sixteenth century. Usually people visit on a day trip from Havana. I recommend that you spend the night there in one of the many private homes that you can rent so that you can enjoy the city just as a local would. At night, during the summer, it is a joy to have a drink somewhere in the center on a terrace with live music. We were lucky enough to be celebrating the festival of San Juan during our brief stay.
