Great alternative to surfer's paradise

Tweed Heads is the best town to choose when leaving Brisbane and taking the coast road. After passing through authentic atrocities like Surfer's Paradise, where builders take their August holiday, you'll find Tweed Heads, which although not a wonder, has somehow managed to hide away from the masses. Leagues and Bowls clubs offer great meals at very affordable prices. Coolangatta on the Qld side has both Greenmount and Rainbow Beaches which are both stunning.
