1 review of USS.Slater

A floating museum

This floating museum is built on the USS Slater, a vessel that served in both the American and Greek navies. It is now a museum on the Hudson river in Albany, New York, the only floating museum in the country. It has been declared National Historical Monument. The Slater was constructed in 1943, and was used by the United States until 1947. In 1951 it was given to Greece, who finally finished with it in 1991. Although we are pacifists, we found the visit fascinating.
