2 reviews of Waterloo

On the banks of the River Thames,

Waterloo train station on the banks of the River Thames, south London, and is the largest station in the UK, on the surface and by the number of people traveling through the station last year. It's no longer the station where the Eurostar comes from Paris, Brussels, Lille and Amsterdam, so I don't think it's still the busiest. Trains from continental Europe arrive at St Pancras Station, north London. Waterloo is on the black subway line used to visit the London Eye (Ferris wheel on the river), the Aquarium and the Dali exhibition. If you want to get away from the city you are within 1 hour of Salisbury, with its beautiful cathedral, and the ruins of Stonehenge, 10km further, Canterbury, beaches and cliffs to the south or the Isle of Wight.
