Sushi on Bloor
A teacher of mine recommended this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Although the specialty is sushi, we had a tempura don and a chicken curry. The most surprising thing is that the we were served sort of huge cauldrons with a base of rice, plus salad and soup. The amounts are huge, but the food is great and super cheap.

Ginger Toronto
The financial district of downtown Toronto is full of fast food restaurants of all kinds and nationalities, at affordable prices, like menus for under ten euros. This Vietnamese is one of the best options, with dishes from China and Southeast Asia.

Mariko Japanese Restaurant
I had read very negative things about this restaurant but I thought it was good. They have cheap menu options and special offers for students and it´s located right on Yonge Street right by Dundas Square, one of the most active and commercial areas. The décor and service were fine too. I found the price to be quite cheap and the portions abundant. I definitely recommend it.

In Toronto we had dinner at this restaurant by sitting on the running sushi, a conveyor belt on which the dishes pass you by, but there was also the option of sitting at a table. The value of the dishes was given by its color. In this case the tape was a small river where boats "sailed" by, carrying the maki and sushi dishes, this "river" was lit underneath, so it looked fantastic. The chefs worked in the bar, constantly preparing the dishes. The truth is, we tried a lot of makis, all of them were delicious, so we expected a good recipe at the end, but it was not because the price worked out at about 17 euros per person. With the amount of dishes we tried, the atmosphere, the décor and the good customer serice, the price seemed great. Another factor to consider is that most customers appeared to be Asian, so we concluded that it was not the typical tourist-oriented restaurant. Neither did it particularly attract your attention from it´s exterior appearance, the truth is that we found it because it was the closest to our hotel, but in this case we hit it spot on.

360 Restaurant

Dinner at the 360 Tower restaurant in Toronto is great, as the rotating restaurant lets you admire the whole city. As for dinner, we were impressed, as it was well-prepared, but it's not cheap. Still, for a special occasion, it's lovely, although you will spend about $125 Canadian for a bruschetta appetizer, salmon and potatoes, and last but not least, a beautiful and delicious cake in the shape of the tower.

CrudaCafe
In their advertising they explain that their name means 'raw' in Spanish, because of its specialty in being vegan, gluten free, biologically cultivated, and using ecological packaging. All products sold like bread, wraps, chips, and cookies, are dried to keep the enzymes alive. On the menu they also have salads, tacos, and natural juices.

EggSmart
After nearly 30 hours of travel from Spain, I came to Toronto, and still had two hours by bus to Niagara, and the free time I had, I had breakfast in an emblematic place in Toronto, beside the bus terminal. The Eggsmart is where you can have all possible varieties of eggs and the staff is super helpful. A breakfast to recharge the batteries!

Shangri-La Toronto

Have a decadent dinner at Bosk at the Shangri-La Toronto. The adjoining lobby bar has a fantastic selection of wines and cocktails including Secret Earl Grey, pictured, a seductive mix of earl grey infused gin and egg whites, and fantastic wines - don't miss the Hunters Sauvignon Blanc. Excellent dinner choices include the seared scallops and sable fish with soba noodles, finished off with Chocolate, hazelnut, cinnamon merengue.

Portico
All guests of the Cambridge Suites Toronto have continental breakfast at this restaurant included. Its on the ground floor you should make reservations for dinner at this place. The service is great and the dinner set in an elegant atmosphere full of comfort. I was told the chef used fresh produce but this was confirmed when one morning I saw out the chef on his bicycle and later I met him at St Lawrence Market making purchases to prepare lunch and dinner from the same day. I opted for a salad, pasta with mussels and tiramisu for dessert. Tip: Finish your meal with ice wine, as it should be when you are in Canada.

Via Cibo

Via Cibo provides something truly unique - a quick alternative to fast food that is authentic Italian, fresh, and positively delicious beyond belief. The entire restaurant is open concept - you can watch the cooks prepare your meal right before your eyes. The menu consists of a wide variety of sandwiches, pastas, pizzas, salads, gelato, specialty coffees, and tantalizing desserts. You can taste the quality and the passion in each bite. The owner, Tebrez, is an incredibly friendly and enthusiastic gentleman ve exudes passion and pride for his little gem of an eatery. My personal menu recommendations would be the Ossobuco Panino and the seductive star-shaped dessert pictured below (whose name escapes me unfortunately) which is essentially nutella-stuffed, deep fried pastry with gelato. To die for. Via Cibo has several locations in Alberta and Ontario, do not miss it!

The Hogtown Vegan
We visited Hogtown Vegan on New Year's Eve where they were serving a special prix-fixe three course meal for the occasion. The overall theme for the restaurant is comfort food that is typically found in the American South...only it's all vegan/plant-based! I wouldn't say it's the healthiest food in the world, but it gives vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores looking to try something new an opportunity to eat delicious, filling comfort food. The meal for the evening was as follows: a sweet potato chipotle soup to start, the ancho-bourbon roasted tofu as the main dish, and an upside down pecan cake for dessert. The three meals actually went perfectly with one another. The soup was a little bit spicy, as was the tofu. The cake cooled everything right down. Even though I was really full, the cake was light and fluffy with coconut whipped cream on the top and it cooled down my palate. I'd love to return to try their regular menu someday. I highly recommend that you check out The Hogtown Vegan if you're looking for something completely different to try while you're in Toronto!

Bello Bio
Bello Bio is an all vegan, all Italian restaurant with a focus on fresh and organic ingredients. Bello Bio is located in Mount Pleasant village northeast of the downtown core of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We visited during Veggielicious Toronto, an event that has a prix fixe menu so you can sample a lot of their menu options all at once! We enjoyed an Antipasto: Chef selection of Bruschetta, winter Caprese salad, homemade giardiniera, vegan pate; a Soup: Chef selection, potential offerings may be one of sweet potato, cream of broccoli, butternut squash, seitan stew, chickpea vegetable, and more; a Primo: Chef selection of Pasta; a Secondo: Handmade Seitan cutlet on bed of green beans with organic tomato sauce and Dessert: Homemade vegan gelato. The owner who served us our food took great pride in his dishes and his restaurant, as he explained every dish to us and emphasized how they used organic and fresh ingredients. Bello Bio also looked like they had some great dishes on their every day menu, so I would love to go back sometime.

Ten Restaurant & Wine Bar
Justin and I are both vegans, so we're always seeking out yummy vegan food when we travel. Sometimes when there's a shortage of vegan or vegetarian restaurants, we'll go to a restaurant that serves all different kinds of food to see if we can find something vegetarian. At Ten Restaurant, you can actually "tweet the chef" ahead of time, let him know about your dietary restrictions or allergies, and he will create a special meal for you! When we arrived at Ten Restaurant, our server asked if we had any types of food that we didn't like. When our meal arrived, the sous chef was very proud to describe all of the various dishes on the plate. We had several small meals all on one plate and it was awesome. There were teriyaki mushrooms, sweet potatoes over rice, spicy peppers, tempura vegetables, and a healthy salad with beets. It also happened to be my birthday and they brought out a special fruit dessert - all kinds of fresh fruits in a coconut shell with coconut water. It was one of the most memorable and delicious meals ever. The regular menu items were excellent too, at least all of our friends thought so! We can't wait to go back here!
