In the old town of Benidorm in front of the Church of Jaime Apóstol, you’ll find the viewpoint which divides the Levante and Poniente beaches and this little bar which stands out for its fresh, high-quality ingredients. It’s frequented by locals and is a perfect place to keep in mind when you’re feeling hungry in Benidorm.
La Mejillonera is one of the typical local joints in Benidorm and it’s easy to find because it’s in the center. If you go shopping or to the beach, you will bump into it.
You can try different dishes on the terrace or inside, among which I’d highlight the mussels. I must say that I usually don’t like Tiger mussels (mussels gratin with béchamel) and that didn’t change here, but the mussels in vinaigrette were simply divine.
The service is nice, fast and helpful and the price is about the average for similar places in Benidorm.
If you go to Benidorm and want to eat a good paella look no further, Aitona is your place. They themselves have the motto on their flag "There is no Benidorm without Aitona" and it is true. I can’t leave without trying the delicious paellas and rice dishes. This year we tried the shrimp clams and monkfish and WOW, as tasty as ever. If you are not that into paella, don't worry because they have an extensive menu with more dishes. I have not tried the pork, but they say it is very delicious. It isn't the cheapest place, but the quality is very good, so stop and savor one of their paellas. Detail to keep in mind is that there is no charge for the bread and overall and they will treat you to shots after your meal.
The Rincón del Murciano is a popular restaurant located a few meters from the Playa de Levante, the busiest in the city. It is a magnificent restaurant with good prices; a hearty dinner usually costs about 13-15 € per head with drinks. Among their popular dishes, I’d highly recommend the chopitos (baby squid), the Murcian-style salad, the octopus, and the steak. They have a large outdoor terrace in summer that’s always full. It’s no problem if you go to the restaurant without reservations because the turnover is high and in less than 5 minutes you will have a table ready.
This place is in the tapas zone of Benidorm and has 20 different plates you can choose from. The waiters are all quite friendly, but then again we went in winter and there weren't the summer crowds to be dealt with. The food is good and inexpensive.
The street known as Basques or Wines Street is actually called Calle Santo Domingo, and stands out above the Aurrera Group .... and especially The Tapería. I usually go there to dinner because more than a tapas bar it is a restaurant that at first seems expensive for its exquisite decor but then you can eat a la carte for a great price. Highly recommended!
We went to eat at this restaurant after some friends recommended it to us and I have to say we left very happy with the traditional food and friendly service. We ordered paella and I must admit it was one of the best paellas I've tried in Benidorm.
When we arrived in Benidorm, we found out about the new cider place that had opened, and since we are Asturian, we decided we had to try it. It is very easy to reach as it is located on the road leading to the Church of Carmen near the beach and looks good because outside is an Asturian granary.
The place was pretty full but there was one free table left so we were able to sit there. Along with the cider from Asturias, it was full of specialties from land and sea. We decided to dine on tapas and drink Sidra Menéndez cider, pretty good from my point of view. The food and the homemade pies fulfilled our expectations. It was lovely and reminded me of my mother’s cooking.
The service is great and the owner of the place spent a while talking to us about Asturias and then treated us to coffee. I recommend it if you want to escape the routine of junk food and paellas in Benidorm.
This is a great spot for refreshment and to enjoy a nice view of the ocean. It is situated on the beach and you get the sense that the sea is right below you. From there you can see most of Benidorm and the island which is so famous. It is perfect for taking pictures of the sea, the beach and the island, and at the same time to relax enjoying the sound of the sea.
If you've been to Benidorm, you’ve almost certainly driven past this place and been captivated by their slices of pizza. For us, it is a must to visit every year. It is so conveniently located that you almost have to run into it when you are at the end of Jose Antonio Street toward the beach.
You have the option to eat your pizza on the terrace or in the dining area, and they also offer other products such as sandwiches, burgers, pastries, ice cream, etc.
Barranco is located right on the beach in one of the best areas of Benidorm and is a great place to try rice dishes or regional specialties. The atmosphere and service are wonderful and the paella is spectacular! It’s a place you should definitely keep in mind.
We chose to eat here since it was close to where we were staying and we had noticed beforehand that the restaurant had a bit of everything to choose from.
Given its location, the place caters to an international crowd so the menu items are all accompanied by photos. I had fried fish and salad for the unbelievable price of 4.50€ and it was great! The batter they used to coat the fish was really delicious.
So, if you want to eat good food for cheap in Loix, this is your place!
Very close to the Benidorm Bullring, we found this restaurant specializing in fast food, pizzas, hotdogs, hamburgers etc. It is quite a spacious place with a large terrace and modern style. It is always crowded, especially with young people due to the food that they offer. It has fairly standard prices and the service is good and attentive. The pizzas are the best thing in the restaurant due to their flavors.
This is a lovely Italian restaurant run by real Italians near the triangular plaza and the L'Aigüera park. Its interior is very striking for its decoration but it is best to try and sit out on the terrace. If it is hot, they put up a special awning and it's a delight to sit in the shade and feel the breeze.
They serve lunch and dinner until late. We arrived for dinner at 11 at night with no problem. More people showed up when we were ordering dessert. They were seated and the employees were always kind and gracious.
The food was very tasty, but the best was the pasta, fresh mozzarella, and the truly delicious starters. The desserts, for my taste, seemed a bit artificial and not at all homemade. The place is new and is always busy for dinner or so I'd recommend making reservations if you plan on going with a big group.
The rice and fish dishes here really create a perfect harmony of flavors. Good food, nice ambiance, reasonable prices…oh, and the owner was delightful. All of the dishes are made to share but to be honest a couple of them were a bit small and we had to order various times. The food, though, is excellent. I’d recommend it.
I loved my dinner at Taita. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly waiter and led through the amazingly-decorated restaurant. The dishes are all very innovative and we ordered aubergines with goat cheese and honey. Simply spectacular. We’ll be back without a doubt.
This is a lovely tavern with great products that are prepared at the bar. It’s an excellent choice for cider and wine in the historic district. My family and I had dinner there last week and the value for the money was excellent. Our waiter, Felix, was more than attentive, something you don’t see too much of these days. We’ll definitely go back.
