El Meson Peña Cabarga is situated just inside the National Park of Cabárceno and is one of the most affordable options you have of establishments where you can eat something if you do not want to pay extortionate prices at the restaurants in the park. They have a daily menu which is quite interesting and also sells sandwiches of all kinds.
This place is great value for money, I'm a traveller and as I am away from home a lot I must recognize that this restaurant surprised me in terms of its quality and service, the views are spectacular, and they serve fantastic homemade food. I will go back for sure.
My girlfriend and I went to this place many times during the summer of 2013 and we also went to the Zoo (which is spectacular by the way). A colleague and I had talked about the place, and it did not disappoint. With room to park, a lawn for the kids, clean, and friendly service from the waiters. We went midweek and there was a lot of fuss. The set menu is pretty good (half chicken + fries + drink + bread + dessert I remember it cost more or less € 7 per person) I will go back next time and sure to visit the Zoo no doubt.
