Restaurant specializing in cod and other traditional dishes from Cordoba. Located in a tavern with its own bodega on the wine route/
It puts on a flamenco show, has a guitar hall, art and tasting areas as well.
The Restaurante Bodegas Campos in Cordoba, Spain is one of the best options to enjoy authentic local cuisine in a traditional atmosphere, far from the touristy tapas joints near the Mosque. The restaurant is popular among the locals and it fills up quickly for lunch (especially on Sundays) so I'd really suggest making a reservation or, if you're not picky, you might be able to find space at the bar.
Cordoba has its fair share of local specialties, but the two most famous by far are salmorejo (a thicker version of gazpacho made with bread crumbs) and stewed ox tail (known locally as "rabo de toro"), both of which are house specialties at Bodegas Campos. We sat at the bar and first ordered a few chilled glasses of Manzanilla sherry, a typical drink in the south of Spain. Then, for starters we ordered a quail pate and the salmorejo. The pate was tasty and pleasant but the salmorejo was absolutely addictive. I've never like salmorejo before but Bodegas Campos made me a believer! The chilled soup is made from fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic, bread crums, and olive oil, and is topped with sliced Serrano ham and hard boiled egg. My wife and I was fighting over ve'd get the last spoonful and we cleaned the bowl dry with crusts of bread afterwards.
Then, we got a savory, melt-in-your-mouth ox tail served in a red wine sauce over mashed potatoes. Ox tail is a hard dish to get right (either its too tough or they just boil it away into oblivion), but this plate was unctuous, tender, and flavorful.
Seriously, if you're looking for a good meal to celebrate your trip to Cordoba, Bodegas Campos is the place.
This is a typical site where people come from Córdoba, to enjoy a delicious gazpacho called "Salmorejo", "patatas bravas" (potatoes with a spicy sauce), or their famous tortilla, all of the highest quality. It is unforgivable to miss it. You have to enjoy it outside, as it is very small, and you drop the drinks.
This place has a magnificent terrace with beautiful views, various types of packages for different prices and well chosen décor, There is both an outdoor area and an indoor area and background music over which you can enjoy a good conversation. Definitely a great find.
This tavern is very close to the Plaza de La Corredera. It is a typical tavern from Cordoba where you can eat well either standing, leaning on giant barrels or sitting on small wooden tables. The service is very fast and the food is delicious. From a rich gazpacho, an oxtail to the well known eggplant with honey and tigers. It is also quite well priced.
Stupendous tavern. Very special. It has an inside patio made in an old corral. Great atmosphere, great tapas (appetizer-sized dishes), friendly waiters, etc.
One of the most traditional taverns in Cordoba.
Best flamenquines of Córdoba. The best dishes are the potatoes, ham, gazpacho and quail eggs on country bread, amazing. Also, the tapas is free. The location is very central. You can choose about 30 free tapas with every drink, including the salad (incidentally, everything is homemade daily). Great value, which is why everyday the square is completely full of customers.
We went here for a special family meal and the experience was unforgettable. The prices were reasonable, the dishes were beautifully presented and all the food was scrumptious, in particular the churrasco (of course, the house specialty) and oxtail. Ther service is excellent. It is nestled in an area like the Jewish Quarter, a few meters from the Mosque.
The cuisine and service here are very good. It has a series of pictures that are worth seeing. I especially enjoyed the cochifrito, the artichokes, potatoes with tomato sauce and various meats. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the background guitar music is well chosen.
This tavern, opened in May 2012, is situated next to the Roman bridge, with very good food at an affordable price. It serves typical dishes from Córdoba, all excellently prepared. It has a very intimate and cozy dining room.
