On my last trip to Lanzarote, while traveling the northern part of the island, we passed a small town called Arrieta, and we found this small restaurant located in its main street.
They have a new chef and exquisite food, innovative and traditional at the same time, at a good price.
The decoration is spectacular, they have a fish tank underneath our feet and it is really impressive. I recommend it to everyone that goes to Lanzarote.
We saw this restaurant when looking around Arrieta on our last day on holiday from the UK and it stood out because this was a quiet Tuesday afternoon and it was the only place with a packed terrace, or even customers. Once outside we were shocked by the prices - 1.50 for a mixed salad or Canary potatoes - steak and fish from 4 Euros - and were a bit worried but thought we'd give it a try.
We had the avocado and tuna salad, Canary potatoes, the Canary stew, the pork chops with chips and salad, fried fish with potatoes and salad, a beer and a fizzy water, fresh warm bread and a load of fantastic Mojo sauce (red & greeen).
Everything was expected - local, fresh and without pretence. Best place this holiday and I we will certainly be returning in September as I want the mixed platter next time and a large bowl of the green Mojo sauce - in the end I was just eating bread and sauce from the spoon it was that good.
Only downside was that we were the only none locals in the place, however that was more than made up by the fact that were the only none locals in the place - what a blessing. Can't wait to return and I will hopefully be able to make it a 5 star review next time if the baby squid live up to expectations.
