Jero

This restaurant is one of the best known and best in Valladolid for tapas. Although not the cheapest (€ 3 in 2012), they are well prepared and, above all, are different from the typical tapas. There are quite peculiar combinations, so not all tapas are for all tastes, and you have to have a good look at what ingredients there are. They might give you a surprise. Of course, if you choose well, you'll enjoy it more. A restaurant to visit and above all, to enjoy, highly recommended.

This past weekend we were doing the route of the snacks. One of the snacks we tested was the Swains, the name of the skewer is Duck soap on toast, with a rich port sauce, honestly it was one of the snacks I liked most

La Cárcava

This weekend we have been in Valladolid and La Caravaca was one of the obligatory stops. It is one of those places that you go to in winter with a wide smile. And after taking a short walk around the centre at zero degrees on an empty stomach, La Caravaca is one of the most warm and pleasant options. Once you’ve ordered some wine and tapas, it only gets better. Open sandwiches (In Madrid we call them tostas) for every fancy. Of course, much more elaborate than those in most Madrid bars. That coupled with a good bottle of Ribera del Duero and some good travel companions make Valladolid a better place than one would expect. I ordered a double and the truth is that it sat excellently, perfect temperature and a five star flavour... Important, upon exiting, turn your head left and you are face to face with the cathedral, perfectly lit for the occasion. Shall we continue the tapas route through Valladolid? Well let’s go, I’ll leave you with the photos and I will share the next one ... PS: the price is more than reasonable, especially for someone from Madrid used to being unfairly ripped off.

Parrilla de San Lorenzo

If you go to Valladolid it is an absolute must to taste a rich lamb and in my opinion the "Parrilla de San Lorenzo" (San Lorenzo Grill) is the place to go. Food, wine and excellent service. Not to mention the restaurant itself, which is quite a sight to see. When I go, I usually ask for simple lamb and salad (tomato, lettuce and onion). There's no need to ask for more. However, this time I went with some friends and ordered sweetbreads starter and they were very good. The dessert we ordered was spectacular. I do not remember the name, but the waiter told us they make the same dish for the nuns ve live in the same building, historical and museum included.

That night I was so tired I wasn´t gonna go to dinner. Since we had eaten at the restaurant and our budget stood there. Tasquita, I loved all the tapas. And I tried the steak tartare with pepper and God took me up to heaven

If you visit Valladolid, you'll find plenty of options for dining. There are lots of bars and restaurants offering great food, but this is the one I return to every time I go to Valladolid. It's next to the Plaza Mayor, and everything is great, but in particular, the patatas bravas, calamari sandwich and spicy mussels are specialties. Enjoy it with their house sauce, a recipe that's been passed down from generation to generation and is almost as secret as Coca-Cola!

Restaurante Herbe

In my tapas route through the city of Valladolid, I found Herbe restaurant, located just off the Plaza Mayor and the famous Post Office, an area full of restaurants. This restaurant is famous for its roast meats, especially the lamb. Although what I really liked were the tapas - really well-prepared and varied, with virtually everything you could want. Free tapa with a drink.

A Ciencia Cierta Restaurante Cafeteria

Best stew ever. We were served this amazing stew at a restaurant located centrally in the Museum of Science. No other menus, but on Fridays you can get a full stew for 13'50 € with drink and dessert included that has nothing to envy to those that our grandmothers make. The site is very well located and well decorated. Recommended 100%

Restaurante La Tahona

José Luis, one of the most famous chefs in Valladolid, has designed two rooms for the restaurant, one with his signature tapas bar, and the other a dining room where you can sit down to more traditional Castilian dishes, and all washed down with a wine from a selection valued at more than € 300,000. We tried the marinated anchovies with tomato confit and baked scallops tapas, and they were delicious.

Restaurante Maria

We decided to try the tasting menu here, after it was recommended by some friends, and it exceeded our expectations! A great menu, with good wine included in the spectacular deal. We looked at the menu and were stunned by the variety and good price, along with the best wines from Ribera del Duero. In short, it is a traditional restaurant with a modern, lovely terrace, next to the Casa Cervantes, in a super quiet pedestrian street. A great place to relax with a G&T or to dine. Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Valladolid!

Bar Ceyjo

Egg, cod and cheese croquetas on offer here ... delicious! A cozy spot, near the Plaza Mayor. Other highly recommended tapas include the garlic soup, and ceyjos (dates, cheese and bacon). Just around the corner is the Zamora restaurant, run by the same people where you can enjoy typical Spanish food.

Bodega Las Mercedes

La Bodega Las Mercedes is a small, cozy restaurant near the Paseo de Zorrilla (Valladolid's main street) and the bullring. They offer a wide variety of food, which varies from day to day: stuffed eggs, prawns, dumplings, pig's snout, mushrooms, razor clams, squid, trotters, potatoes, eggs with bechamel, chanterelles, tripe, chorizo, grilled prawns, anchovies, sardines, croquetas, pork rinds, cheese toasts ... all accompanied by the great service from Antonio, the owner, that ensures people come back again and again. The atmosphere is friendly - everyone seems to know each other, and it's very jovial inside. Take it from me: this is one of the best places to go and enjoy some food in Valladolid.

The restaurant is opposite the gardens of Campogrande in Valladolid. Prominent among their activities are blind tasting dinners for groups, as well as special mushroom days when they are in season.
