Islands in Le Palais
Belle Île
Belle Ile en Mer, as the name suggests, is a wonderful island with clear water and amazing scenery. It is an inviting place to stroll along the coastal paths.
Islands in Le Palais
Stepping in Houat is a breath of exoticism. From the port of Saint-Gildas and beyond the white houses, you will find unspoilt, little photographed nature. Multicolored boats in a hereing-bone arrangement. The privileged fishermen occupy the best places in the spring of 5 kms. There's no glamour here what you see is what you get. The island is genuine and unobtrusive. Beyond the village there are no roads, no low walls, only low vegetation dotted with sand-filled roads. There is a path that goes around the island you can explore and enjoy a quiet walk discovering the most beautiful Atlantic. The southwestern coastal cliffs are cut by idyllic coves. To the west, in the strange boulder Beg er Vachif you will find an abandoned military battery. However, the real jewel is the East Coast: Treac'her Goured beach surrounds Tal er Hah with fine sand. The blue waters are so attractive that for a moment you forget how cold it is. In the dunes, sea lilies grow and marram dunes. Look no further because this is paradise.
Of Touristic Interest in Le Palais
The Great Goulphar Lighthouse
On the cliffs near Port Coton are the Kervilahouen or Goulphar lighthouses both over 50 meters high. You can climb to the top of the lighthouse, over 200 steps. My advice is obviously to set aside some time to go and get a good view of the island and ocean.
