In 1988 UNESCO declared the Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin a World Heritage Site. The cave wall art includes representations from the region of l'Alcoià, the Comtat, Marina Alta and Marina Baixa, the paintings and engravings are prehistory. Drawings are characterized by representations of men and animals, especially concerning hunting. It is one of the main rock art sites in the Valencian Community and is easily accessible to visitors, as is the Pla de Petracos in Castell de Castells. Inside the Marina Alta there are many samples like Raco del Pou, the Port of Confrides, Benialí ravine, Cova Mansano or Cova Alta among many, and Serge in Alcoy, where visitors are guided.
The situation of this village, in a valley surrounded by mountains, has made access difficult and thus has allowed it to retain its charm. Its main attractions are fountains and caves, some with cave paintings, like those of Petracos.
