Nature Reserves in Cabo de Gata
Cabo de Gata Natural Park
(83)
Named, through history, as the “Pirate Coast”, this name comes from the maritime incursions of the Berbers and pirates that arrived at the coasts to get fresh water and rest in the calm villages before going back to the sea. The Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is Andalucía’s first maritime-land park. It is of volcanic origin and it is the largest protected space with ecological relevance of all the Western Europe Mediterranean Sea. It has one of the most beautiful and rich coastal strips of the Mediterranean, with 65 kilometers of coast. This park has become one of the natural jewels for the tourism in Almería, Andalucía and the rest of Spain. It has coves, nudists’ beaches, with rocky cliffs, sandy and pebbled beaches. It is not massively frequented, so the tourists can enjoy a mild climate to practice water sports and other activities relates to the marine world throughout the year. It is one of my favorite paradises, where it is calm and peaceful.
Beaches in Carboneras
Los Muertos Beach
(108)
Los Muertos Beach is in Carboneras (Almería), Spain. This beach has superb quality waters that are always ready for you whenever you're ready to go down the narrow stairs, because if you spend a few hours enjoying one of the best beaches on the coast of Almeria you'll have to be prepared with an umbrella and a mini fridge because there's no beach bar or anything to eat at that offers shade and something cool to drink. The bedrock gives you some natural shade, but unless you wake up really early it's always busy.
Coves in Cabo de Gata
Cove of San Pedro
(27)
The San Pedro cove is one of the few redoubts hippies left in Spain. Many people, not only hippies, camp there for an indeterminate period of time. The beach has crystalline water, surrounded by a small mountain 45 minutes away walking from the road. The water allows you to dive and see a great quantity of fish and plants and you can canoe and do other sports as well. In the cove there are only two bars, one in the shore and the other in a castle in ruins. The menu is very limited but it allows you to survive the heat and thirst. It is a calm place that allows you to forget the noise and busy life. You can feel like a free person without worries for a few days. There are two ways to get there: by walking during 45 minutes along a rocky road that descends from a little mountain to the road. It is not very recommendable, especially for the way back. The best option is to go to the town of Las Negras, take a taxi-boat and you will get there for 12 Euros, and you can arrange the time you want to go back. If you are lucky the driver will take you to some natural caves on the way. This way also allows you to enjoy the landscape, the sea and the cliffs.

Alcazaba of Almería

I could enjoy outside the citadel in 360 * and inside, I loved it. It is a place of my land which I would visit again, I also recommended the tea shop there at the foot of the citadel and the tapas bar which is delicious called san juan ... In case you want to do the same here is the route we did ... http://botasybrujula.blogspot.com.es/2013/07/orgulloso-de-ser-almeriense.html
Cliffs in Cabo de Gata
Las Sirenas Reef
(36)
I never fail to visit this Las Sirenas Reef when I go to Cabo de Gata. Its in the town of Cabo de Gata and is by a long straight road that goes to the left next to the salt fields. At the end you will find a small lone church - depending on what time of day it is it may seem "sinister". From there, continue up a narrow road (with very steep curves) which leads to the Cape. Here you will find a viewpoint where you can see sharp coral rocks jutting out from the sea.

Beach of Cabo de Gata
(40)
Acantidos is right in the Cabo de Gata where you can go by car and stop to explore the numerous coves that are in the park. A place to perederse for a week of the most diverse, camping, guesthouses, campsites, etc. .... It is better to go in spring, although there are small beach bars that open only in summer, yet, you will find some hiding places among the cliffs to enjoy a good beverage. A paradise intent on ruining a policy that fosters a "quality tourism", which is nothing more than a tourism with a high economic level, to finish in this "hippy" paradise which is what this area has always been.

Historical Monuments in Almería
Cable Inglés
(44)
This is one of the most important monuments of Almeria, our great Cable Inglés. It is well worth spend any afternoon doing nothing and watch the sunset, impressive and people are also usually go fishing there, as is the case with my photography. I recommend it.

Isleta del moro

On the feast of the Virgin of Carmen, the sailors of this small village, accompanied by the priest serving the local church, embark and stroll the harbor waters with the image of the Virgin, after a Mass having been celebrated. The whole town and many visitors stay and watch the boats leave, sometimes from their boat rides.

Los Genoveses Beach
(33)
A beautiful cove with calm and crystaline waters, which is reached by a road of soil from San José. This sandy area has got a nudist part and a woodland somewhere. Within walking distance, if you approach Monsul Beach, you can enjoy one of the scenes of "The Last Crusade" Indiana Jones. From the nautical center to the staff, it was it a pleasant experience. The kite course has changed my attitude towards sports. The teachers were well prepared and friendly. Being able to enjoy a walk in the wonderful Paddle surf beach of Las Palmerillas was like being in paradise. There is a kind of Algar giant called Posidonia where you can almost touch the bottom with rowing and appreciate that kind of reef. The water is very clear and clean. We were able to attend party, which takes place every month, and where between good music, weather, a healthy environment and sports it was like it was ready for me! Recommended 101%. Greetings and thanks to Team AWA.
Theme Parks in Tabernas
Oasys MiniHollywood

50 km from Roquetas del Mar is the western theme park of the chain Playa Senator . It is an option if you are staying in this chain because if you have full board you can eat a buffet in the park at your hotel . The entrance is 19 euros per person and kids are free if you are staying there, but the entrance is 10 euros if you eat buffet , and if you are not staying there it costs 17 euros per person. You must wear swimwear because inside there are 2 pools to cool off and then you can go to a zoo in the park, which is included in the tour . Also included is a ride on a small train. To make it more enjoyable I recommend the shows. The can-can dancing is very fun and the music in the background is good.
Beaches in Cabo de Gata
Los Escullos Beach
(18)
This is an impressive corner of the Almeria coast, a few minutes from the Isleta del Moro and San Jose. The beaches of El Monsul and The Genoese are not far away. When you visit this area stay in the small hotel, named Los Escullos, where you can enjoy a good rest and good food.
