The Castel du Mont Boisé can be found in southern France, at only 5 kilometers from the town of Montelimar. It is a beautiful old castle that was renovated as a hotel and restaurant. One can enjoy the food which is a mixture of provencal dishes with a traditional twist. There is also a pool, however this is not ideal for children because it is 2 meters deep, so you have to know how to swim or have constant parental supervision. As for the rooms, they cost around 120 euros per night, and they are very large, with private a bathroom and each one has special decoration, that you can see on the web site. They take reservations online and by phone. They were friendly and helped me to make my reservation online paying safely. The place is a little hard to find if you have no GPS.
This hotel is part of the Ibis chain of the Accor group. Is a little out of city center but very well connected, next to the exit from the city's ring road, and five minutes walk from a tram stop. The tram takes you to the city center in about 20 minutes, and during peak hours, it is faster than driving. It costs about 90 euros per night for a double room with private bathroom and includes breakfast and 24-hour Wi-Fi. The rooms are basic, much like all the other hotels in the chain. Breakfast is an unlimited buffet and was quite good and varied, because they always offer local specialties to try. Other than that, the service was so-so. I was woken up at around 7 am because they were hoovering outside. I didn't like this in a place where you're supposed to rest! Then they had to give a message and did not inform me. In short, I chose it because the center were full, but it was not an unforgettable experience.
Le Clair de la Plume is a charming hotel located at the entrance of the town of Grignan, near the public fountain. It has a total of 10 rooms, all traditionally decorated in a Provencal style. A small room costs 98 euros per night, the midsize room is 130 euros and the large room is a charge of 170 euros. A family can stay in the midsize room or the large. They charge 13 euros per person for breakfast and a fee of 7 euros per day for pets. Each room is decorated differently, are very comfortable and you can view them online before deciding. In the building, which is an old Provencal house, there is a small tea room and restaurant. We found it very expensive for drinks because they charged 4.50 for a coffee or a bottle of water, but with the main course at 13 euros, in this exceptional place, is worth it. There are a lot of vegetation in the garden and it is quiet.
It is located in the heart of the Vieux Lyon and Fourvire, very near the banks of the River Saone and the peninsula of Lyon, so it offers easy access to the most popular places in town! It is open from 7 to 23h, and in the reception we picked up some information about the city, helping us plan our stay. You can choose from a single room, double, or triple, and prices vary from about 70-80 per night. It has free wifi, ask at reception for the use of a computer if you need to access your email messages, for example.
Morzine is a nice, small resort in the Alps. It is a major tourist center where prices are exorbitant, but not as comfortable as in winter and summer. This summer we went there and did great walks and activities such as canyoning, rafting, rappelling in a presentation that is accessed by the elevators! Great!
The Paris Hotel is in front of the Valence Ville station, which has a train connecting Marseille to Lyon. It is one hour from Lyon and two from Marseille. These are cheap, regional trains. The hotel has a good location for exploring this small town. At the end of the avenue there is a large municipal park, which is lovely because its background is the Vercors mountain range. The historic pedestrian center is also very close and everything can be discovered by foot. In total, it has 29 rooms with modern decor, with sound-proof windows. The single room costs between 45 and 50 euros, the double from 50 to 65 euros, and the familial holding up to two children, 77 euros. Breakfast is not included and costs 7 euros per person.

The Hotel Suisse et Bordeaux offers a total of 63 rooms, and all of the rooms are equipped with a bathroom or shower, cable TV, and wireless internet access in all the rooms. The decor is not the most modern, but the location is good, as you are not only next to the train station but also two tram lines that will take you to the city center in just five minutes. The room prices range from 48 euros per night for a single, 57 for double, and 68 for a triple. Breakfast is not included, and it costs 7 euros per person. It is older than the beginning of the last century, with a nice touch.
The Sévigné Hotel is just off the historic town of Grignan. Many people stop here for a quick overnight stay, because its at the end of the journey and not because Grignan deserves more than a day of sightseeing. The town is small and can easily be reached by foot from the Hotel Sevigne.
Something that is very popular in the region is cycling and if you stop by this area, you can leave it overnight without a worry. The hotel is named after the most famous inhabitant of Grignan, the Marquise de Sevigne, who lived and died in the castle above. The activities include visiting Grignan and the surround small Provencal villages. They have a rich cuisine with truffles, olives, lavender crops that give the landscape a beautiful blue The hotel is very quiet, with a Provencal decor. They also have a restaurant.
The villa Bigfoot Safari Company is a luxury, so why would we chea you. Safari Villa is a bed and breakfast, breakfast is served and picked up for you. It is just 2 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants in the center of the city. It has 5 bedrooms, all en suite, plus the "mazot" with double bed and bath, a sauna and a living room and dining room that opens onto a terrace with views of Mount Blanc, L'Aiguille du Midi, and Les Bossons glacier. The chalet can be rented as a whole from £ 1300 for a week in summer. Not bad to be honest, it is luxurious and cozy, although it can get expensive (but if you are ten day per head is 20 €)
The Adagio Annecy Centre is located next to the Alps, on the shores of a lake in the city centre. Only 10 minutes walk from the lake, five from the old town, and next to the station. The complex has 104 apartments with fully fitted kitchens with 2 hotplates, crockery, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, air conditioning, bathroom with bathtub and hairdryer, TV, direct dial telephone, and internet access.
I spent a few days this summer there, and can simply say that it is a wonderful place. Lose yourself from the world if you feel like it, and everything nearby if you want. In a village of Pays Voironnais in France, near Grenoble, in the French Pre-Alps. You have no frills but all charm and quiet, a good place to rest. I hope to return someday.
The La Rouviere Campsite can be found at the entrance of the Ardeche Gorges, at the height of the arch bridge that's over the river. They have direct access to the water to go kayaking through the gorges, and organize trips themselves. The owners weren't kind to us and then on top of that they made us pay to rent boats from them also. They said we were getting bill also and never did, and to charge the normal price without clearly explaining why. But the place is nice, we rented a small bungalow for 5 people, 95 euros a night out, has everything going in for picnics, and a table outside with a barbecue to prepare a roast. The campsite has a small shop, which was almost empty because it was early in the season, at least make baked bread every morning, and a cafeteria. More land to play basketball, bocce fut. Camping grounds are shaded.
This charming hotel offers 41 spacious rooms equipped with all the comforts and tradition of the Mediterranean. It features spacious rooms all equipped with modern facilities, a quality that makes this hotel a comfortable and gentle. The services and amenities they offer are at a good price.
This hotel is highly recommended. The rooms are huge for a three-star hotel, and they have a good breakfast buffet. Ask for rooms at the side of the glacier. The views are incredible, and it seems like you're right below Mont Blanc. Swimming pool with Jacuzzi and sauna for guests can relax. That said, great value for money for Chamonix. The biggest problem is that you are outside Chamonix, yet well connected if you have a car.
This time our timeshare took us to Le Arcs 1800, fourteen miles from Bourg-St-Maurice. The complex consists of several buildings with different names and capacities. Ours was large enough for 2/4 people, maybe a little small for four. It was situated in the Les Lauziers building with, according to my calculations, about two hundred apartments or studios. A maze of entrances and exits, elevators and hallways intertwine to form this building. The study had two bunk beds and two cupboards and the bathroom had strange lights that made the place feel like a kind of underwater camera. There was a well equipped kitchenette, a living room with a sofa-bed for two people and a small terrace which was part of an exterior corridor that connected the entire floor. Not the most comfortable place we have stayed in but located in one of the most beautiful environments we have been to. I would return.
The Hotel de l'Europe is on Felix Faure Ave. in front of the main bus station and close to the train station. The historic downtown is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The area can be a bit noisy because of the traffic on the street, but nowhere near as noisy as in a big city. You can park your car in the private parking lot, which is convenient because there are so few places downtown to park. They speak English and Portuguese, and understand a little Spanish as well. The hotel is in an Art Deco-style building which was recently renovated and all rooms have AC. It's a family-run hotel. Double rooms cost about 50 euros / night, and the 4-person family room is 65 euros. There are a total of 26 rooms. Breakfast costs 6.50euros. There are several cafes close by where you can have breakfast if the weather if good.
The De France Hotel is in the center of Valence, which is a convenient place that's near the city's bus and train stations. If you want to visit the historical district, it's about a five minute walk, and the exhibition center is also nearby. The street on which the hotel is located was modernized and there's a lot less traffic now. There's almost no cars, so the noise has decreased a lot. The De France Hotel has air-conditioned rooms for one to four people, with modern, private bathrooms and showers or tubs. The room is quite spacious with a flat screen tv, and a view of the city. You can order breakfast in the room, or down to eat at the buffet, inside or on the terrace in good weather. Prices range from 75 to 135 euros per night, plus 11 euros for breakfast. They offer parking for 9 euros a day. They have meeting rooms for up to 40 people with wifi. Internet is included in the price and is in each room. If you want to walk around the city, you can pay for a bike.
The De Touristes Hotel is a small hotel that can be found in the little village of Vallon Pont d'Arc, which is a great jumping off point for going down to the gorges of Ardeche in Kaya, the area's main attraction. The village itself is 5 kilometers away from good food and shopping. There are some campsites stores around but have to take the car to find a supermarket. The river is next door and the hotel helps you organize your trip on the water. It is a simple hotel, housed in an old stone house, the rooms remain cool in summer. Prices around 40 euros the double room, a little more in the summer, there are rooms for families too.
