I wasn't fortunate enough to stay at the Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort, but we went there for a pool party and the resort looked amazing. Really beautiful layout and good food, too. The views are to die for!
We came to Ibiza in September and chose this hotel because the reviews weren't bad, the price was great, and it offered full board. I booked a room with no balcony. The bathroom was okay, with a bath with a curtain, and the room was quite small, but it had a fridge, which came in handy. The biggest drawback for us was the musty-smelling air. As for the cleaning, no complaints, they cleaned it every day and made the bed.
The food was a pleasant surprise - not much choice (2 - 3 options at both breakfast and dinner), but it was all great, and you could tell it was all homemade. Brilliant breakfast, with eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, cereal, coffee, tea, pastries ... yes, the drinks were not included in the price, but we took a big bottle, and kept the leftovers in the fridge for next time.
The hotel staff were friendly, especially Diana at reception and a man whose name I can't remember. In terms of facilities, it has a bar on the ground floor with tables on the street and a rooftop pool. The pool is very small, but to cool off, it's fine, and the best thing about it was that we were almost alone whenever we went swimming. Last but not least, the location was great: 30 seconds from Figueretas Beach, a quiet 10 - 15 minutes walk from Ibiza town, and with buses to the rest of the island. There's a supermarket next door and an ice cream parlour opposite. It's nothing like one of those all-inclusive beach resorts, but it was perfectly acceptable for our needs.
The Club Cala Tarida hotel is one of the nicest hotels on the island of Ibiza. It has stupendous views and offers the perfect vacations: it’s great for families who come to relax and enjoy unforgettable holidays. What’s more, the hotel is located in one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Do not hesitate to take a look at the hotel page and you will see that it is wonderful.
A boutique hotel located in Marina Botafoc, Ibiza's maritime promenade. It has three types of rooms: standard, superior and premium. Close to everything, Rocamar Ibiza has an unbeatable location and is the ideal place to enjoy the island, just five minutes from the Talamanca beach, opposite the old town and the marina, and very close to shops, the most exclusive restaurants and nightlife.
The Hotel Apartamentos Lux Mar are located a 10 minute walk from the port of Ibiza and less than 5 from Figueretas Beach. Here's a great photo from my balcony. Direct boats to Formentera leave almost from the hotel itself.
The Ibiza Gran Hotel is a five star luxury hotel located in the Promenade of Ibiza, close to the port city, with its Casino of Ibiza Pacha facilities and a few minutes walk. And it is surely the best place to stay on the island of Ibiza if you are not concerned with money. The hotel has many facilities, including a large pool with a very nice design, efficient and friendly staff that are used to dealing with celebrities and executives. Also in the top of the pool is a terrace / disco where you can have a drink until the early hours of the morning. The best part of the hotel is definetely the rooms which are decorated in a minimalist style. All come with terrace and a giant bed, not to mention a spa tub, three feet from the bed. It is a great place to relax after a day of work or celebration. You can find out more here: http://www.vivireuropa.com/2011/10/ibiza-gran-hotel-lujo-en-el-puerto-de.html
The hotel Algarb, GPS Hotels chain (also known as sun beach group), was acquired in 2007 to the string party. It is not only at a great locations across from Playa d'en Bossa, but it is also near many fun and famous Ibiza spots. It is a very welcoming hostel opposite Salinas beach, perfect for those who want to enjoy the beach and stay in touch with nature. Its about 20 minutes from Ibiza, and has public transport (3 euros a ticket) and frequent taxis that can take you to anywhere in the city. Next to the hostel is the restaurant that serves morning coffee, which although simple, is fantastic, and also serves tasty snacks, and seafood for lunch and dinner, as well as sangria. Be sure to try the potato omelette, and also enjoy the unique beauty of Salinas beach, with its crystal waters and its surroundings filled with stories.
Hostal Residencia Roberto Playa (Ibiza - Ibiza - Spain) is located in Ibiza, 50 meters from the beach, port, and 10 min. walk from the port of Ibiza, surrounded by restaurants and bars. It is an international meeting point for showbiz and sport, DJs and all sorts of artists associated with the music industry. This 2-star hotel has 50 available rooms.
The Maritime Hotel Ibiza has a great location near the centre of the island's capital, with a beach very close by. The prices are especially good in winter: I stayed with two friends in a triple room for just 36 € per night in November 2010. The hotel doesn't offer too much - it's clearly aimed at low-cost tourists, but the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The downside is the wifi, with the frankly absurd price of 10 € for 12 hours or 40 € for a week.
We had had fun going to Rome last year, everything arranged at the last minute, and we decided to have another adventure, but this time in a larger group. So we suggested going to Ibiza in the first weekend of July. At first I thought it was just going to be one of those pipe dreams that you never actually get around to realizing, but it became a challenge! In fact, we left everything to the last minute again, and found ourselves on Thursday at 20:30 confirming that we'd be leaving by boat the next day at lunchtime, and returning on Sunday afternoon.
We found a hotel at the last minute, and we really got lucky. The hotel staff were so efficient but also so friendly and warm - I've never seen a team work so well together in all my years of travelling. You might find a nice waiter in one hotel, or a good receptionist in another place, but here everyone works together perfectly. The hotel has maintained its three stars, and has improved its facitilites year after year. It went from being a typical stag party hotel to what it is now - fantastic. The beach is not spectacular, but it is clean, it has sun loungers and parasols, and it's just below the hotel. There's a little dock where you can take a boat twice a day to Formentera, and there's a salt water pool with more sun loungers and parasols, as well as a large snack bar with a terrace, and delightful views.
The dining room is another treat, particularly if you get a table overlooking the sea. The breakfast and dinner buffets are generous in quantity and quality. In the streets around the hotel, you can find everything you could ask for - a pharmacy, parking spaces, car and motorbike rental, gym, bars, cafes, supermarkets, hairdressers, newspapers and tobacco, etc.. In front, between the sand and the hotel, there's a magnificent promenade full of terraces and restaurants, some worth mentioning. I do not know exactly the distance to the centre of Ibiza, but it was about ten or twelve minutes walking, and the hotel is well-connected to the other towns. By the way, pets are allowed. To the staff: Thank you for your dedication and professionalism. I always recommend you to family and friends.
