This hotel is only a five minute walk from the center. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel is very well-decorated and there are ruins of an old Moorish wall in the hallway.
There’s a free gym, hot tub, and sauna. Breakfast is normal.
The only issue is the difficulty entering the parking lot and maneuvering once you’re there. The price is always fair.
If you’re looking for a hotel in Logroño, the Portales is a very good choice. It’s not a “luxury” hotel by any means, but the facilities are above-average and, most importantly, the location makes it the best possible choice if you can find a good price. Not only is it in the middle of the city, but you’re just a brief walk away from the amazing Laurel street (yup, the one so famous for tapas). You’d have no excuse to not get out and explore the city. To sum up, the rooms are comfortable and they have everything you need to have an enjoyable stay in Logroño.
This is a four star Parador (Spanish state-owned hotel) and it is located in a building from which you can almost touch the walls of the majestic cathedral. It was built in the 11th century as a hospital for the pilgrims of the Road to Santiago by the very Saint that gives his name to the place.
In 1965 it was rehabilitated as a Parador de Turismo, but it still preserves the main entrance and some of the windows of the 13th century.
It has a hall and a large living room on the lower floor that is full of Gothic arches and has a lovely coffered ceiling.
By the way, the network of "Paradores" has changed the bathroom amenities and they now smell like chewing-gum!
Take into account that there is another Parador in the same village, Santo Domingo de Fresneda, located in a convent and of a lower category.
El Hotel Calle Mayor is found in the historic neighborhood of Logroño and has managed to create an atmosphere which is fresh but still respects the beauty of the original 16th century structure.
The only downside, perhaps, is the breakfast area which is a bit cramped (the building’s not that big), but the rooms are very nice.
Besides the original stone staircase, the hotel still maintains the building’s original stone archway, wood lattice-work, and molding.
So central, in fact, that you can see the Logroño Cathedral from your window only a block away. The rooms were well-lit and spacious, with all the amenities you’d expect. The rest of the hotel was renovated and updated and the reception area is very elegantly designed.
Also, the next day we had to check out before the buffet opened, but they were kind enough to open earlier so we could have something to eat. Really nice!
Here are the three things I love about the NH Herencia Rioja: first, the rooms are quite spacious so you never have to worry about bumping into things. Secondly, the mattress is comfortable, exactly what you need after a day of wandering around. And finally, its location: it's just five minutes from everything downtown, so if you want to have a drink, go shopping, you name it...you'll find it near the hotel. Don't miss their great restaurant, El Zarcillo. It's the perfect hotel for foodies.
If you’re thinking of taking a trip through the Oja valley where you can enjoy nature, monuments, traditional towns, and some extraordinary landscapes, then Ezcaray will be your center of operations, and the Apartamentos Azcaray are an unbeatable place to stay.
The apartments are well-designed, cute, and warm, and they come as individuals or doubles. There are full kitchens and free Wi-Fi.
They’re in the center of town and give easy access to just about everything. Also, the service is friendly and warm.
A few days ago, we stopped at Calahorra and, to be honest, since we were coming back from Barcelona, what we wanted the most was a bed and that's it. However we discovered this stunning accommodation and we decided to pamper ourselves on our way back from a fast trip to Barcelona.
The Parador of Calarhorra oozes good taste from every corner, in honor of the distinguished Marco Fabio Quintiliano. In this parador of medieval style, tranquility invades the building, with a lovely garden and classical decoration.
The AC La Rioja is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Logroño if you're looking for a comfortable stay in the city and a chance to enjoy the famous wines and tapas of the region. This modern hotel has 76 rooms and is located next to the university and near the historic center of the city, the town hall and the thriving business area. La Ribera, the hotel restaurant, offers guests an exquisite setting decorated in a minimalist style, the ideal place to enjoy a menu focusing on traditional cuisine updated with modern techniques. The breakfast buffet and a la carte dinners are fantastic, and the wine list is vast and features some of the most prominent names in La Rioja. The hotel pool in the basement is heated. You can access the fitness facilities 365 days a year.
Very close to Logroño, in Albelda de Iregua, we find this fantastic place, which deserves much more than a recommendation. There is nothing like discovering a touristic innovation, and this is one of them.
La Casa del Cofrade is much more than a hotel, it is also a special restaurant for an unforgettable experience. You can order a private dinner for a number of people, which takes place in the wine cellars. There they include you in the preparation process: together with the chef, you will be able to cook your own exceptional meal with the best wines and in an intimate and stunning atmosphere.
Without a doubt one of the best traveling experiences I've had lately.
The valleys of La Rioja already have a special charm. But if you add to it an interesting touristic offer it is even better. The Hotel and Spa of Arnedillo has been offering a great service of spa to everyone for many years already.
Until recently, it is true that spas were seen as a touristic offer for the elderly. But it was such a mistake. Especially since the spa programs have become popular among young people.
This Hotel and Spa of Arnedillo has adapted to modern times and, taking advantage of the great thermal springs of the land, has developed an incredible offer for those who like to take care of their health and well-being: wine therapy, spa programs, outside swimming-pool, natural springs... It is a fantastic place.
In El Rasillo, close to the swamp and in a magical natural environment, we find this charming rural cottage, a unique place to rest. The amazing attitude of the owner, the good service and the fantastic installations make it an appropriate place to rest for a few days right in the mountain region of La Rioja. There is everything you need inside the very large house, including a majestic garden that, during sunny days, allows you to have a barbecue, one of those you remember for years. A very good choice.
In July 2009, I went to this hotel with my husband. It is without a doubt the perfect destination to relax and enjoy the sensations that the land of vineyards and its fruits offers us.
This small and welcoming rural hotel is located in a lovely small village of the Upper Rioja. Everything, from the name of the rooms to the activities and programs, are directly related to the world of wine, it couldn't be otherwise.
The rooms have sloping ceilings but are not uncomfortable, with a very rural style of stone and wood... All in all, very romantic!
The strongest point of the hotel is without a doubt the restaurant. Definitely. If you happen to go there, do not miss out on having dinner in "La Cocina de Merche". The elaborations are classical but with modern touches... The products (mostly vegetables) stand out for their high quality.
If the weather is good enough you should have breakfast in the garden... (we had to ask for it, but there was no problem at all and they were nice enough to prepare everything for us).
We enjoyed a two-days program including dinners and breakfasts as well as a guided visit (with wine tasting) to the close vineyards owned by the owner of the hotel. I highly recommend it.
To conclude, I will comment on some elements to take into account:
- The village is very small, there is no bar, no grocery shop or restaurant (except the one of the hotel). If you need anything you will have to take the car to the closest village (Labastida, at approximately 8 km.).
- The city of Haro is very close by. I recommend visiting it, as well as the village of Briones.
We decided to come to Camping De la Playa as it's close to the center of Logroño. Unfortunately, we couldn't camp at the time of year that we went (November), so we had to stay in bungalows (there was no warning about this on the website) for 25.00€ per person, so frankly if you're planning on visiting Logroño, you can probably find a better hotel for the same price! Here are some other things to know about staying here:
* The price of the bungalow does not include space for your car ... you have to pay extra.
* If you want to leave at 14:00 on a Sunday, you must pay for another day, because they will not allow you to spend a single extra minute on site
* If you want internet...you can only access it with prepaid cards.
* Cleaning of the bungalows...they claim to be cleaned regularly, but at night we spotted cockroaches!
The Hotel Ciudad de Logroño is spacious, comfortable and has rooms overlooking the cathedral. The linen smells great, in fact, we didn't even want to get up! The temperature is comfortable, the service is great, and the breakfast buffet features a wide variety of fresh pastries. There is also free water and fruit on offer in the hotel corridors. Definitely worth a visit!
Eager to visit the cities in the north of Spain, we headed for Logroño and chose to stay at the Hotel Murrieta. It costs a bit more than our normal budget, but it's in a new building in the center, just a few steps from the Plaza Mayor. Breakfast is available until 12:00 on Sundays and they stay late until 14:00. The receptionists and waiters are young, friendly, and eager to help you discover their city. Don't hesitate - this is a great option for your La Rioja holiday!
Hotel Los Bracos is located in the heart of Logroño on Calle Laurel, close to the amazing new art center where they put on glass-enclosed shows which you can see from the street. The cathedral is just a seven minutes' walk away. If you're just looking for a centrally-located budget hotel, this is a fantastic option.
This hotel is in a small renovated palace. The decor is very cool, with modern furniture which contrasts nicely with the older, stately building.
The rooms are comfy and spacious. The bathrooms also have showers adapted for people with disabilities.
They have a cafe terrace with a nice atmosphere where they serve breakfast in the morning. Coffee, fresh-squeezed juice, toast, and a variety of small dishes (the Spanish omelet was spectacular!).
