The Colon Hotel is a three star hotel that can be found conveniently on the Rambla de Piriapolis, almost in the heart of the Uruguayan resort with a magnificent view of the beach. I refer to it as a hotel with history, and began as the "Sea Castle" Don Francisco Piria, founder of Piriapolis, built in 1910. Hotel Colon maintains and enhances everyday all the romance of "Petit Hotel French" because in addition to its fortress-like medieval, Renaissance palace features with touches of art nouveau. The hotel still has its original staircase. The service is good and the location unbeatable. It's a good choice for a warm hotel with remnants of the past.
The Ocean Hotel is a three star hotel that's located in a very pretty spa that can be found just 150 meters away from the beach, which gives the hotel a really warm family atmosphere with a terrific breakfast buffet with homemade German specialties. The rooms are warm, the service is good and the hotel also offers an extensive, landscaped park of 1500 square meters with lush trees and grill, fitness room and roofed individual garages. It has all the amenities of hotel of this category: safe, wi-fi, room service, cafeteria and medical and beach service. It is a very good choice for a family, especially when children are small, given the size of park for multiple activities.
The Select Hotel is a cozy little three star hotel that has been renovated and warmly decorated. It can be found at the base of the Cerro San Antonio and also very close to the beach. The hotel has 45 rooms and offers its guests an excellent breakfast buffet. It comes with all the amenities of a modern three-star and also has a large park of 3000 square meters with lounge chairs and grills where you can make a barbecue. The rooms and common areas are spacious and bright. Its indoor heated pool adds a "touch" more to all the benefits that offers.
The Argentino Hotel is a fantastic hotel in the seaside resort of Piriapolis, located in the Rambla de los Argentinos and facing the Rio de la Plata which so wide that it looks like a sea. The hotel was ordered to be built by Don Francisco Piria, founder of the spa (hence the name Piriápolis (Piria City)) and inaugurated on December 24, 1930. Piria Francisco was a prosperous merchant and an alchemist with great visions of the future. The Hotel is reminiscent of the era and is decorated with rich symbology and beautiful details, especially in the statues which are similar to those in Vitrauxs. The Argentino Hotel has a total of 300 rooms and 56 suites, all strategically designed to give views of the sea, hills and forests around the area. It is a four star hotel that combines the old with the services of a modern hotel. Services include: Kids Club, Spa, Ocean Thermal Center, Casino, Planet Youth, Food and a Sports Complex. All of the pools have seawater and the magnificent park is full of ancient trees and gorgeous flowers. Even if you don´t have the opportunity to stay here, it´d be great to just go for a visit. The spacious rooms, recreation rooms, reading rooms and magnificent views from its many windows will undoubtedly surprise you and the floors with fantastic drawings and the wood, marble, and coffered ceilings will amaze you.
