An unusual statue

At first glance, this statue might evoke a rather strange feeling - a bit ethereal, a bit unusual. The character, with a sword belt and a defensive posture, is certainly not very typical. Abraham Davel is the name of the individual represented - the Joan of Arc of Vaud. He led a few hundred men to fight for independence before being put to death by the Oberland enemies. Even under torture, he continued to say that God had guided him. Today, the statue sits at the foot of Castle Lausanne.
