Cathedral of Our Lady of Remedies

In reality, its complete name is Cathedral of Our Lady of Remedies. The temple was built in several phases on the site of an ancient church of Los Remedios (16th century). It became a cathedral in 1819 when La Laguna became a new diocese. The early church was Moorish, but later underwent numerous reforms (in 1618 the left tower was added, in the eighteenth century several interior chapels were built, and in 1916 the right tower was added). The present church is Neo-Gothic, with three naves and ribbed vaults. They were designed by architect Rodrigo de Villabriga and built between 1904 and 1915.
