Hiking Trail to Chorrituelo de Ovejuela

The trail to Chorrituelo is a true gift of nature. There are two ways of getting there, both well-indicated and easy to follow. The best is the white and yellow trail that follows the river’s descent and offers an endless series of amazing views. You need to cross the river four times, three of which are over stones, and some stretches of the trail take you on a raised walkway. The trail is generally not too difficult but I think it’d be best to do it without young kids. The second route, the red and white one, is longer and has less-spectacular views.

The end of the trail is worth the entire trip.

The Chorrituelo route is one of many great day-trips to do in Ovejuela. You can leave your car in the small town and begin the walk from there. The trail is very well-indicated and takes you through some beautiful stretches of wilderness before arriving at the Chorrituelo waterfalls. It takes a little while to get there, but it’ worth it, especially if you go on a hot day. If I remember correctly, it takes about 45 minutes to get there but once you step under the falls it’s like all the sweat and hard work is washed away and you’re ready and refreshed for the walk back through the beautiful forest.
