Las Mestas

The charming town of no more than 50 inhabitants is the gateway to the beautiful sub-region of Las Hurdes. Highlights are the natural pool, the town’s location at the intersection of the Batuecas and Ladrillas Rivers, the thousand-year old juniper trees, the old Factoría de Alfonso XII which has since been turned into a very nice hotel, the typical regional products like honey, pollen, royal jelly, and, why not, the friendly
