Chapel of Saint-Louis-des-Invalides

This is one of the greatest examples of French architecture of the seventeenth century. It was conceived as a royal mausoleum but after the death of Louis XIV these plans were abandoned. In 1840, it was decided to install the remains of Napoleon in the crypt, and the addition of the tombs has transformed this church in a French military monument. What to see: 1. - Tomb of Joseph Bonaparte 2. - Monument Vauban 3. - Tomb of Marshal Foch 4. - Ceiling frescoes "glory of paradise." 5 - Chapel of St. Jerome (younger brother of Napoleon) 6 . - Glass gallery with Napoleon's tomb.
