5 reviews of Kerameikos

Kearmikos

This is located next to Monastiraki archaeological site and is a little forgotten by tourists. In it you can see the remains of the walls of Athens. You can also see graves, tombstones and sculptures. In its museum are the originals of some of these sculptures.

Keramikos Museum

The Ceramic Museum was built in 1937, based on the plans of H. Johannes and with money donated by Gustav Oberlaender. With the support of the Boehringer brothers it was expanded in the 1960s. It has since became one of the must sees of this ancient city.
