Notable remains

Now, only small remnants are left of the ancient wall that protected the city at the time of the Roman colonization. The most notable lie in the basement of the Museum of London, at the Barbican, and Tower Hill. The street called London Wall London or The Wall wa actually the northern part of the Roman city wall, and on Towel Hill right next to the remnants of the wall stands a statue of the emperor Trajan. The Romans originally built the wall in 43 AD to protect Londinium against barbarians. The original wall was destroyed in 60 AD by Queen Boudica who led the British tribes against Roman colonists.
