Conflict point

Just opposite Kas lies the island of Meis. Not of spectacular beauty or has particularly impressive ruins, but it is in a politically strategic location, since even though it is very, very near Kas (we could go swimming from one place to another and by boat it takes less than 30 minutes) this island belongs to Greece. This has led to the island of Meis to be a point of conflict. The story goes that the Greek government subsidizes inhabitants to prevent it becoming Turkish territory. The geopolitical situation of the island also has made it a perfect place for some people who want to enter or leave Turkey with ease.
