Palacio Valdés Theatre

The Teatro Palacio Valdés was declared a cultural site in 1983. It was named after the renowned writer Armando Palacio Valdés, of whom there is a statue in front of the main facade. It was built in the early twentieth century (1920) to the Italian Neo-Baroque design of the famous architect Manuel del Busto. Its facade features its great ornamentation and large windows. The theater of Avilés is the main stage area of ​​the region, used for all kinds of cultural and theatrical performances, like music, opera and dance. It seats 747 people.
