Parador de Baiona

La ciudad de Baiona fue clave en nuestra historia ya que hasta aquí llego Martín Pinzón en su viaje de vuelta desde América, después de salir de Palos de la Frontera. Pero además, a orillas del Atlántico, protegido por la bahía y disfrutando de un clima agradable todo el año se encuentra el Castillo de Monterreal sobre el que se sitúa el Parador de Baiona. Se trata de una antigua fortaleza, que al entrar te recibe con armaduras y escudos de armas que te trasladarán a un ambiente medieval. Puedes pasear por sus murallas, disfrutar de sus jardines y relajarte contemplando sus vistas al mar y a las Islas Cíes. Pero sobre todo os aconsejo llegar a la puesta del sol, sobre el mar, increíble! En su restaurante se puede pedir un menú degustación (esté o no esté en la carta). Este menú os saldrá más económico, y en este caso, como no podía ser de otra manera, está fundamentalmente basado en el pescado de la ría. Las habitaciones del ala oeste tiene vista hacia el mar, la costa y la puesta de sol. Además dentro del recinto de la fortaleza, antes de llegar al Parador, se está preparando un restaurante donde podréis degustar los menús degustación y platos a la carta con vistas al puerto deportivo de la ciudad. Ah! El parador está a 10 minutos andando de la ciudad de Baiona, un ambiente perfecto para salir de vinos y tapas, además de probar el exquisito marisco gallego!

The city of Bayonne was key in our history since Martín Pinzón arrived here on his way back from America after leaving Palos de la Frontera. But also, on the Atlantic, protected bay and enjoying a pleasant climate all year Monterreal Castle on the Parador de Baiona is located. This is an old fortress, which upon entering you get armor and coats of arms that move you to a medieval atmosphere. You can stroll along the ramparts, enjoy the gardens and relax watching their sea and the Cies Islands. But mostly I advise you get to the sunset, over the sea, amazing! In its restaurant you can order a tasting menu (whether or not in the letter). This menu will exit cheaper, and in this case, how could it be otherwise, is mainly based on fish from the river. The wing rooms have sea view, coast and sunset. Also within the grounds of the fort, before arriving at the Parador, is preparing a restaurant where you can taste the tasting menus and à la carte dishes overlooking the city marina. Ah! The hostel is a 10 minute walk from the town of Baiona, a perfect environment to get wine, tapas and try the exquisite Galician seafood!

Ocupando la Penísula de Monterreal, es uno de los Hoteles más singulares, a mitad de camino entre fortaleza medieval y arquitectura señorial gallega. Se alza como impresionante mirador sobre el océano, rodeado de un recinto amurallado, protegido por el mar y flanqueado por un hermoso bosque de pinos. Cuenta el Hotel con estancias regias y elegantes en las que abundan los detalles decorativos de otras épocas. Salones señoriales y habitaciones espaciosas, muchas de ellas con hermosas vistas sobre el mar, integran un interior grandioso en el que sobresale la majestuosa escalera de piedra del recibidor. La lubina con navajas en salsa de grelos, las mariscadas, la tarta de Santiago y las filloas componen el amplio escaparate gastronómico del Parador.

Occupying the Monterreal penisula, is one of the most unique, midway between a medieval fortress and Galician stately architecture. It stands as a stunning viewpoint over the ocean, surrounded by a walled, protected by the sea and flanked by a beautiful pine forest. Count the Hotel with regal and elegant rooms that abound in the decorative details of the past. El Castillo de Baiona o fortaleza de Monterreal se encuentra situado en la península del Monte Boi. Dentro de la fortaleza se encuentra el edificio del parador nacional de Baiona, que fue residencia antiguamente de los Condes de Gondomar. Merece la pena recorrer el perímetro de la fortificación por la parte superior, no sólo por la belleza de la misma, sino también por las vistas que tendremos de la bahía de Baiona, de las islas Cíes.

The castle or fortress of Monterreal Baiona is located on the peninsula of Monte Boi. Inside the fortress is the building of the national Parador de Baiona, which formerly was the residence of the Count of Gondomar. Worth walking the perimeter of the fortification at the top, not only for the beauty of it, but also for the view that we have of the Bay of Baiona, the Ces Islands.

Un parador excepcional, en un entorno único. Un antiguo pazo en una pequeña península al norte de Baiona, rodeado de mar por todos lados excepto la carretera de unión con el pueblo. Las vistas desde las habitaciones y el paseo amurallado son dignas de ver, y las zonas comunes están fantásticamente restauradas.

Los Paradores siempre están situados en lugares emblemáticos, pero el de Baiona tiene algo especial. No solo por estar dentro de una fortaleza, sino porque además está situado el un enclave precioso, junto al mar, al sur de las Rías Baixas y desde donde pueden verse las Islas Cies. Absolutamente maravilloso. Llegamos con los últimos rayos de sol de la tarde, que se colaban por la habitación, así que la experiencia fue inmejorable. Además, Baiona es una preciosidad de pueblo y merece la pena darse un paseo por sus calles o su paseo marítimo.

Paradores are always situated in emblematic places, but the Bayonne has something special. Not only for being inside a fortress, but because it is also situated on a beautiful setting by the sea, south of the Rias Baixas and from where you can see the Cies Islands. Absolutely wonderful. We arrived with the last rays of afternoon sun that streamed in through the room, so the experience was unbeatable. Furthermore, Baiona is gorgeous village and worth a stroll through its streets or boardwalk.

Tiene todo lo que puedas pedir. Ubicación inmejorable, muy confortable, la garantía de Paradores (soy admirador, creo que no soy objetivo) y por supuesto todo el encanto de Galicia (en esto tampoco soy objetivo). De todos los paradores que conozco, el más espectacular. Además tienes la ventaja de estar en el mismo paseo marítimo de Bayona para comer por ejemplo en el mosquito y a un paso de poder tomar marisco en Rocamar. Bayona además, queda relativamente cerca del aeropuerto de Vigo, para aquellos que quieran desplazarse en avión. Cita obligada y además enclave interesante para los amantes de la fotografía.

It has everything you could ask for. Prime location, very comfortable, ensuring Paradores (I am a fan, I'm not objective) and of course all the charm of Galicia (in that I'm not objective). Of all the hostels I know, the most spectacular. Plus you have the advantage of being in the same Bayonne waterfront dining in the mosquito such as being able to take a step Rocamar shellfish. Bayonne also is relatively close to the airport of Vigo, for those who want to travel by plane. A must and also interesting enclave for lovers of photography.

Fue increíble y unas vacaciones inolvidables, me quedé en el Parador De Baiona unos días, las instalaciones son increíbles, el restaurante y el bar son de 10, la atención excepcional y sin duda el lugar es mágico; la muralla y las vistas son más que increíbles y es un lugar que no te cansas de ver ni de estar. Volveré sin duda.

It was incredible and unforgettable holidays, I stood at the Parador de Baiona few days, the facilities are incredible, the restaurant and bar are 10, exceptional attention and certainly the place is magical; the wall and the views are incredible and it is more than a place you do not get tired of seeing and being. Back definitely.

Baiona nos ofrece una magnífica fortaleza medieval por la que poder pasear, mirando el mar desde lo alto de una muralla, los preciosos jardines de Parador que se encuentra dentro de ella y el lujo que de él se desprende. Mientras se contempla una localidad preciosa, de edificios bajos, de buen gusto y SIN turismo de playa, gritos y macrotoallas. Un paseo al atardecer, en una villa tranquila y de buen gusto. Para olvidarse de que existe lo mundano, y ver el mundo en letras mayúsculas.

Baiona offers a magnificent medieval fortress which to stroll, watching the sea from the top of a wall, the beautiful gardens of Parador found within it and the luxury of l follows. As a beautiful town, low buildings, tasteful and WITHOUT beach tourism, shouting and macrotoallas it is contemplated. An evening stroll in a quiet village and tasteful. To forget that there is the mundane, and see the world in capital letters.

Visita obligada para aquellas personas que les encante el mar y las puestas de sol. Disfrutar de un paseo por su muralla, al atardecer es un placer para los sentidos. Disfrutamos del servicio de restauración en la cafetería situada junto a la muralla, donde además de un servicio excelente, tuvimos vistas al mar en todo momento.

Must visit for those who love the sea and the sunsets. Enjoy a walk on its wall, at sunset is a pleasure for the senses. We enjoyed the restaurant service in the cafe located next to the wall, where besides excellent service, we had sea views at all times.

Maravilloso rincón gallego, rodeado de mar y montaña que te traslada a la época medieval. Lugar de ensueño!! Sin duda un lugar donde disfrutar de la naturaleza, practicar deporte, relajare en la playa, comer de maravilla o cualquier otro plan que te pueda apetecer.

Wonderful Galician corner, surrounded by sea and mountains that transports you to medieval times. Dream place! Definitely a place to enjoy nature, sports, will relax on the beach, eat great or any other plan that you can wish.

Recorrer el Parador durante el anochecer es una de esas cosas que todos deberíamos hacer una vez en la vida. Y si además lo haces en un día despejado, puedes descubrir lo que es quedarte mirando fijamente al cielo sin necesidad de más.

Touring the Parador during dusk is one of those things we should all do once in a lifetime. And if you also do it on a clear day, you can discover what it is to stare at the sky without needing more.
