Ganga Aarti Ceremony In Parmarth Niketan Ashram

2 reviews of Ganga Aarti Ceremony In Parmarth Niketan Ashram

Diwali in Parmarth Niketan

To realize the importance of this sacred place for me, you need to understand in what state of mind I had arrived in this ashram. My mother died June 18, 2010, of cardiac arrest. I left for India October 1, 2010, evidently in search of answers about her. The man, who can be seen on one of the pictures on the right, saved my life. I have an aunt who was once connected to everything about the esoteric and Hindu spirituality and she recommended that I go to a Guru that she had idolized in the time of her hippie youth. Maybe you've heard of this man because he made a vow of silence for 30 years ... Chandra Swami. On my arrival at the ashram, I completely panicked.

Although I found the place beautiful, the man scared me. I found him impersonal, unfriendly ... not the kind of guy you want to talk to about your life drama. I ran away after 2 days. I arrived in Rishikesh, after 3 hours of bus, 2 hours rikshaw. It was late, I stank of sweat and dust. I walked on the banks of the Ganges for hours, and it is him that I found, this man, swamiji. If ever you go to Uttaranchal, do not hesitate. Go there without judging, without any hope. Go there just objectively. Wait for evening aarti, especially after going to satsang. The aarti is the daily religious ceremony near the Ganges honoring the divine, and satsang is the time you can ask all the questions you want to guru swamiji.
