Like being in a time machine
Being there is really like being in a time machine. It has old arcade shops, candy stores, and so many good places to eat. Thee Pitts Again is one of the best places I have ever eaten at. The deep fried twinkies are phenomenal.
But why you really need to go to Silverton is to drive along the Million Dollar Highway. The Million Dollar highway is a two lane highway with absolutely no guard rails and you are driving across the edge of a mountain a good ways up. It is one of the ultimate driving rushes.
