Southwalk

Located on the south bank of the River Thames, this is where you'll find the Shard building, Shakespeare's Globe Theater, and the unconventional architecture of City Hall. The area has been settled since Roman times, although the metropolitan district of Southwark was officially founded in 1965. Today it is an economic and business center, and you can enjoy the views if you take a cruise down the river.
