The cicónidos are birds in the family of ciconiiformes, more commonly known as storks. They are long-necked birds, waders, and waterfowl that inhabit some of the warmer regions of the world. Storks are a migratory species that spends the winter in southern African savannas and nests in Europe, usually on urban buildings and electrical towers, or church steeples or large trees that can withstand the weight and size of a stork's nest. They return every year, so each year the number of migrating storks increases. Walking through Laguardia we came across a stork's nest and I wanted to share it with you.
