The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden

2 reviews of The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden

A lovely visit

The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden is MOMA's sculpture garden (the Museum of Modern Art). It was designed by Philip Johnson and dedicated to the memory of Abby Aldrich, wife of John Rockefeller Jr, one of the museum's founders. It was designed to be an "urban oasis" where visitors could enjoy a breath of fresh air. Here, you can see masterpieces of modern sculpture between the ponds and various plants. Concerts and other festive events have also been held here. On a previous spring time visit, it was lovely, but I found it just too cold in winter.

A peaceful place

Excellent

Located in the heart of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller sculpture garden is a peaceful and pleasant place, which offers visitors a very nice chance to take a break during their visit to the museum. We love the sculptures dotted around, surrounded by benches that allow you to enjoy the sun while you admire the art work!
