Birthplace of Illustrious Characters

Located along the pediment of this pretty French Basque village with a flavour of sailors. The facade is a neo-Basque style, half-timbered with a red colour, typical in this region. Interestingly, there are two sculptures on both sides of the facade, on the one hand a "landlord" and the other a "landlady". Another interesting feature is called the Getaria Basque, with the same name as the famous city of Gipuzkoa, the birthplace of illustrious characters like the couturiers Balenciaga and Juan Sebastian Elkano. The coastal path (Sentier du littoral) passes through Ghetary with a total of 25 miles
