Holy Transfiguration of Our Lord Chapel

This small Russian Orthodox church is located on the Kenai Peninsula in the village of Ninilchik. It is in a very secluded area with a church, from where you can see a beautiful view of the Cook Inlet (Cook Inlet) and the people themselves. The church was built in 1900 and there is a traditional Russian Orthodox cemetery nearby. For the whole area of ​​the Kenai Peninsula there are many groups of Orthodox Russians who live very isolated lives and are very similar to the Amish, ; they still dress traditionally and maintain their customs and traditions, they also speak only Russian. These groups are called the Old Believers (Believers old).
